The sequel to Game Arts most sought after game, Grandia, is being made for the Dreamcast. Grandia 2, unlike it's Saturn predecessor, utilizes a fully 3D polygonal engine. The Dreamcast's ability to do real time lighting, bi-linear filtering, and fogging effects, will have the Grandia world being even more impressive than before. From left over food on the tables to children playing and people having casual conversations, the level of detail in Grandia 2 should make it a fully immersible experience for the player. Game Arts is not releasing any information on the plot of Grandia 2, but they say they kept the gameplay elements that worked in the original and improved them. Since the first title came to a full conclusion, it is known that the sequel will have a completely new storyline. Game Arts is aiming for a release by the end of 1999, with a US/European release shortly thereafter.
